SoBe Cats’ Mission

SoBe Cats Spay & Neuter is a 100% volunteer 501c3 nonprofit that partners with the City of Miami Beach to help control the Miami Beach homeless community cat population via a three-pronged approach:

  1. Adoption at our Kitty Campus location:  We want kitties to be placed in to a loving home when possible!  We spay/neuter and place friendly, adoptable community cats & kittens into our pawesome Adoption Program at our the Kitty Campus (located at 81st & Collins Ave in Miami Beach), so that we can find them a safe and loving home and get them off the streets.  To put the kitties up for adoption we must take them through a brief quarantine process where they are dewormed, vaccinated, given flea medication, fixed, microchipped, etc. We are always looking for volunteers to help us care for our furry friends at our Kitty Campus location, please see the application below!

  1. Trap Neuter Vaccinate Return (TNVR):  We help facilitate TNVR for community cats remaining outside via connecting the need with our volunteer trappers.  We train and educate new trappers as to their free spay/neuter options, loan out traps, etc.  We hold periodic TNVR events at The Kitty Campus location in conjunction with Miami Dade Animal Service’s Mobile Animal Clinic.

  1. Registered Feeder Program:  We help our community cats “Live Outside with Love” via our City of Miami Beach backed Registered Feeder Program and assist in facilitating best practices. We count on the feeders to not only feed and provide fresh water to the cats, but to also make us aware of any cats that have not been spayed/neutered (noted by a snip in the cats left ear), so we can work with that feeder to educate on TNVR (Trap Neuter/Spay Vaccinate Return) options and techniques so we can ensure the cat gets fixed and is given vaccinations. If a feeder or resident is willing to trap a Community Cat for TNVR, we help train and educate the feeder on how to do so, review free or low-cost TNVR options, proper protocol, etc. If a feeder or resident is not willing to assist with TNVR activities, we will pass details re: the cat needing TNVR to our list of volunteer trappers.
